当地ストレーツタイムズ紙によれば、多くの企業は大きく動じるような様子もなく
状況を静観するような落ち着きぶりだったということだ。

それよりも、事情によりワクチン接種ができない人、もしくは望まない人が、ワクチン未接種が理由で解雇につながってしまわないか、という危惧の念が広がってしまっている。

というのも、最新の労働省MOMの案内で、「ワクチンの接種状況を会社に報告しない社員は、職務不履行扱いにつき未接種と同じ扱い」とし、「場合によっては雇用を終了することができる」とアナウンスしたためだ。

具体的には、「As the vast majority of vaccinated employees eventually return to the workplace more frequently, the prolonged absence of the unvaccinated employees from the workplace may affect their individual performance as well as negatively impact team or organisational performance.」との内容。


現在シンガポール全体では、11万3千人の社員がワクチン未接種。
ワクチン未接種の場合、経費は基本的に自己負担で、定期的にPCRテスト（140ドル）またはARTテスト（25-40ドル）を受けてもらい、陰性結果に限りオフィス勤務を許可するか、もしくは在宅勤務の選択肢を用意すべき、とのことである。

一年半以上に及んだ在宅勤務への終止符が打たれようとしているものの、感染拡大は日常的ニュースとなっており、未接種社員の取り扱いなど、まだまだ取り組む課題は少なくなさそうである。
