"Fully innoculated staff to return to workplace from Jan 1, 2022" - Singapore's Covid-19 multi-ministry task force announced last week. How was your company's response and colleagues' reactions?
At the national level, 96% of the total workforce are reported to have been inoculated. So most businesses seemed unfazed by this news.
Raised consciousness was about unvaccinated employees. The Business Times article introduced new MOM advisory that employers can terminate them as last resort.
It also adds that staff who refuse to disclosed vaccination status can be treated as unvaccinated.
Here are the details - As the vast majority of vaccinated employees eventually return to the workplace more frequently, the prolonged absence of the unvaccinated employees from the workplace may affect their individual performance as well as negatively impact team or organisational performance.
The latest survey finds there still remains 113,000 unvaccinated employees in Singapore.
Unvaccinated employees will need to take a Covid-19 test at their own expense. PCR test costs about $140 while ART about $25-$40.
Employers still have challenging issues to tackle ahead to resuming "Return to Office" from next year.
